Overview and Responsibilities

Saint Mary's University of Minnesota is seeking a full-time doctoral faculty member in our Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program who is eager to contribute to its Lasallian Catholic mission of awakening, nurturing, and empowering learners to ethical lives of service and leadership. We are especially interested in and give preference to candidates who demonstrate a vision to create and nurture initiatives that will advance our mission within the scope of their duties and who will foster a culture of dialogue that, with respect for all people, supports the search for meaning and purpose in pursuit of excellence.

 

The Doctor of Business Administration faculty member will teach evening courses on the Minneapolis campus in business and research disciplines. We are seeking qualified individuals with a strong record of teaching at the master’s or doctoral levels, ideally in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, economics, and finance. This key faculty member is responsible for the academic advising of students as well as serving on and chairing dissertation committees. This position will support, in words and actions, the Lasallian educational mission of the university.

 

  • Teaching doctoral level courses as assigned; primarily in quantitative business disciplines, management, or strategy (specific disciplines and courses are dependent on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications)
  • Advising doctoral-level learners through coursework and the dissertation process
  • Conducting scholarship in accordance with individual goals, disciplines, and areas of interest
  • Contributing to a positive and inclusive learning and teaching environment
  • Participating in student events including DBA orientation and social gatherings
  • Actively engaging in Saint Mary’s University events and programs such as faculty workshops, commencement, convocation, and other activities

  • The ability to teach and work in the evening on campus in Minneapolis
  • Interact respectfully and cooperatively with faculty, staff, and students
  • Understanding of and commitment to our Lasallian Catholic education, values, and identity

Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree from a regionally accredited university is required, preferably in a business discipline
  • Academic qualification through doctoral degree or graduate-level coursework in a business discipline; qualifications in quantitative disciplines preferred
  • Demonstrated teaching experience at the master’s and/or doctoral levels
  • Significant scholarship experience (minimum 5 years) and evidence of scholarly contributions to the profession preferred. Professional experience in a related discipline will be considered
